Not only funded research such as from the Ministry of Education and the
Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, IIST is working on
contract researches and joint researches from industries and municipalities
such as Nagasaki.

* Contract research
In the contract research, the institute staff will, as a public service,
perform delegated tasks of research and development commissioned by private
companies or other research institute.
Then the obtained results and knowledges will be provided as a report.

* Joint research

Staff of both the institute and the private sector staff
will conduct a research on an equal footing.
In IIST, we also provide technical consultations for private companies.
